Organic SEO Explained

At the Internet’s inception, SEO did not even exist. At least not that anyone knew. Website owners were simply adding content and stuffing keywords into their page, and like magic, it would rank.

As more and more people began to understand the power of being online, things got tricky, and Google got smarter. For every trick or loophole they were abusing, Google was continually creating and updating algorithms to keep these low quality sites from appearing to their end users.

After all, Google wants to please us because they are a search engine, and people want the best information for their keyword to appear on page one, otherwise, Google would not be what it is today.

With that said, Google is also a business, and for this reason, they want online businesses to pay for advertising via Google Adwords. There are many theories about this that we won’t get into, but if you think about that for just one minute, it may be clear (or is it?) why Google makes it difficult to rank organically using search engine optimization (free traffic).

Although this theory may make sense on the surface, it is really more complicated. Google wants two things:

1. People to use their paid advertising platform

2. Users to get the best information on their topic when they browse the organic listings

So in reality, if we look at what Google wants, it kind of throws the earlier theory out the window.

So Why am I Telling You This, and Who Cares?

Let me first say that I do not believe (in fact I know for certain) that Google does not want us to rank on page one using search engine optimization. What they want is for properly optimized and trusted websites with popular mentions throughout the web appearing in the top spots.

I can say this for certain because you are reading this article. Regardless of whether you found this on a social media site or by searching for a key phrase in the search engines, this website and/or page is ranking somewhere at the top or you would never have found it.

So how did that happen? By using our own trusted SEO strategies to place our content in front of the people who want to read it.

Maybe you were looking for Akron SEO services or were just looking for an audit tool to analyze your website. There are many phrases you could have used, but at the end of the day, you ended up here.

How Long Does it Take to Learn Organic SEO?

This is not a question that can be answered with a time-frame. Learning how to perform search engine optimization is not something that you can study for one time and begin ranking websites. Google uses hundreds of factors in their algorithms to determine who will show up for specific keywords, but most of the time, they will not tell us what those are.

It takes practice, patience, dedication, and a never-give-up attitude to be great at SEO. Our founder, Melissa Ritter, has been doing online marketing for 16 years but still has to continue educating herself with the latest SEO strategies and Google updates. It really is a full time job, which is why so many local businesses outsource this area to a reliable SEO agency.

There are hundreds of programs out there that will charge you a minimal monthly fee to provide SEO services, but what they are not telling you is that they are using outdated automation tools to create spammy backlinks pointing at your website or other black-hat techniques that are doing more harm than good.

Our strategy is manual SEO. This means that we perform every aspect of optimization in house, and will never use an automated tool to create backlinks. This is how we are able to obtain page one rankings that stick. Click here to learn more about how we can help your business.
